Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev hosted an official lunch on October 13 in honor of Laos President Thongloun Sisoulith.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that after the lunch, the two countries’ leaders and Laos Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongsavan Phomvihane viewed photographs taken during a 1986 visit to Laos by Heydar Aliyev, National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, when he was First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers. The photographs show him meeting Kaysone Phomvihane, then chairman of the Council of Ministers of Laos.
Kaysone Phomvihane was the father of Laos Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongsavan Phomvihane.
