Azerbaijan has always mobilized its efforts to strengthen the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) institutionally, increase its influence globally and promote closer unity across the Turkic world, which the country regards as one family, particularly during its chairmanship of the organization.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in an address to participants of the second meeting of heads of intellectual property offices of the Organization of Turkic States.
The head of state said the Turkic world, located at the heart of the historic Silk Road, has throughout history been home to great figures, scholars and thinkers:
“The rich scientific and cultural heritage of our peoples, their substantial human capital and growing innovation potential create opportunities for cooperation in intellectual property to develop as a distinct area within the OTS and for close interaction. In this regard, it is commendable that meetings of the heads of the relevant institutions are being organized. The first meeting, held in Bishkek last year, was an important step in this area.”
The Organization of Turkic States is an intergovernmental body that promotes cooperation among Turkic-speaking states. Its work spans political, economic, cultural and other areas, including efforts to deepen institutional ties among its members.
