Nineteen people were killed and 364 injured in Houthi attacks on Saudi airports, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, the Saudi-led coalition said Thursday.

Coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said at a news conference broadcast by Saudi Alekhbariya News TV that Houthi attacks on the kingdom had intensified since the beginning of October, following an escalation against Saudi Arabia by the Iran-aligned group since July.

King Khalid International Airport had been targeted in 20 attacks since the beginning of October, al-Maliki said. Between Oct. 7 and 11, 17 people were killed and 333 injured in attacks on the airport.

At Abha International Airport in the southwestern Asir region, two people were killed and 28 injured, the spokesman said. A further three people were injured in an attack on King Abdullah International Airport in the southwestern Jazan region, according to coalition figures.

Official Saudi sources said five airports, including Riyadh’s main airport, had come under Houthi attacks since Oct. 5, causing deaths, injuries, property damage and disruptions to air traffic.
