A total of 1,161 individuals have been evacuated from Iran through the borders of Azerbaijan following the commencement of military operations by the United States and Israel on February 28.

The evacuation efforts facilitated the passage of citizens from 37 different nations. According to official statistics, the group included 361 citizens from China, 246 from Russia, 99 from Tajikistan, 76 from Pakistan, 18 from Saudi Arabia, 9 from Georgia, and 7 from Belarus. Additionally, the evacuation included 6 citizens each from the United Arab Emirates and Slovakia; 5 from Serbia; 4 each from Jordan, Switzerland, Iran, Nigeria, and Japan; 3 each from Qatar, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and the Philippines; 2 each from Nepal, Kazakhstan, France, Turkey, Italy, and Yemen; and 1 citizen each from the United Kingdom, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, Myanmar, Brazil, the Maldives, and South Africa.

Azerbaijan continues to serve as a vital transit corridor for international evacuations due to its strategic geographical location and stable infrastructure. As regional tensions escalate following the military actions initiated under US President Donald Trump, Baku has maintained its role in providing safe passage for foreign nationals seeking to exit the conflict zone. The Republic of Azerbaijan has previously demonstrated its capacity for large-scale humanitarian logistics, coordinating closely with international partners and foreign embassies to ensure the secure movement of civilians across its borders.
