Overnight strikes in Russia and Ukraine killed at least four people and injured at least 21, officials said on Friday.
In Ukraine, a Russian attack on the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia killed one person and wounded five, including a child, regional military administration head Mykhailo Semikin said on Telegram. The strikes hit residential areas and landed near an extracurricular education facility, he said.
In the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk, debris from a night attack involving Shahed-type drones struck a non-residential building and killed a security guard, Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv said on “Facebook”.
A Russian attack damaged warehouse facilities in the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, injuring three people, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry said. Rescuers were searching for a woman who may have been trapped beneath the rubble, the ministry added.
Ukraine’s Air Force said Russia launched 136 strike drones, 114 of which were suppressed.
In Russia’s Belgorod region, an attack on the settlement of Razumnoye killed a married couple and injured four people, including a child, the regional operational headquarters said. One house was destroyed and a neighboring property was damaged.
Kaluga Region Governor Vladislav Shapsha said nine people were injured in an attack on infrastructure, with five taken to hospital. Private homes in two municipal districts were also damaged, he said.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 505 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014, and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
Independent verification of the claims remains difficult because of the ongoing war.
