Brazil beat Australia 4-2 in a friendly. After goalscorer Raphinha was injured during the match, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick commented on the situation.
Flick said playing for the national team is an important part of a footballer’s career and that players give their all on the pitch. However, he questioned whether it was appropriate to stage the match in Australia. He said the Nations League makes it harder to arrange friendly matches in Europe, resulting in additional demands on players.
The Barcelona coach said he could not influence the situation and therefore had to manage his players’ playing time. Flick also said he enjoys watching Spain’s matches and praised the understanding among the team’s players. He described Spain as the best national team in the world.
Marca had earlier reported that Raphinha would miss Barcelona’s upcoming matches.
