Azerbaijan exported goods worth $23.45 million to Armenia in January-September 2026, AnewZ reported, citing data released by the State Customs Committee on October 19. The exports accounted for 0.1% of Azerbaijan’s total exports during the period.
Imports from Armenia to Azerbaijan were valued at about $96,500. The total volume of goods trade between the two countries therefore reached approximately $23.55 million.
The figures come about a year after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the removal of restrictions on cargo transit to Armenia. Speaking alongside Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on October 21, 2025, Aliyev said restrictions that had been in place since the occupation period had been lifted.
The first cargo sent to Armenia under the new rules was grain from Kazakhstan.

Additional shipments of gasoline and diesel were delivered to Armenia in 2026. By September 5, Azerbaijan had sent about 16,000 tonnes of diesel, as well as 5,000 tonnes of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, Trend reported.
Azerbaijan has also enabled the transit through its territory of Russian goods to Armenia, including grain, fertilizers and timber. These shipments are separate from Azerbaijan’s own exports and are not classified as goods of Azerbaijani origin.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade turnover in the first nine months of 2026 amounted to $37.21 billion, according to the State Customs Committee. The figures offer an initial picture of expanding commercial ties between Azerbaijan and Armenia following the easing of restrictions on cargo transit.
