The European Union has extended its sanctions against individuals and entities allegedly responsible for Russia’s “hybrid” activities abroad by one year, until Oct. 9, 2027.
The European Council said on Thursday that Russia was continuing and intensifying activities including foreign information manipulation and interference targeting the EU, its member states and partners.
The sanctions apply to 80 individuals and 20 entities. Their assets are frozen, and EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing them with funds, financial assets or economic resources.
Individuals on the list are also barred from entering or transiting through EU territory.
