New details have emerged about the killing of a 24-year-old woman in the Bina settlement in Baku’s Khazar district.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the incident took place near the cafe where Fatima Rahmanzade, born in 2002, worked.
The suspect is Museyib Ahmadov, born in 1986. Police have detained him.
How the incident unfolded
According to the report, Ahmadov, who lived in the Sulutapa settlement, divorced his family two years ago. He later met Rahmanzade, who was renting a home in the same settlement.
After some time, they began a relationship and started living together. Ahmadov lived with Rahmanzade in the home she rented.
The report says the two argued several days ago, after which Ahmadov did not return home.
On the day of the incident, he returned to the home. When he saw that Rahmanzade was not there, Ahmadov called her but received no answer.

He then went to the cafe where the woman worked.
According to the report, Ahmadov encountered Rahmanzade at a bus stop near the cafe. She asked him to end the relationship and not to bother her again.
An argument followed. Ahmadov allegedly stabbed Rahmanzade multiple times with a knife he was carrying.
The seriously injured woman was taken to hospital, but doctors were unable to save her.
Suspect’s social media posts come to light
After the crime, posts Ahmadov had made on social media before the incident also drew attention.
The posts reportedly included threats and statements about revenge.
Messages on the suspect’s account reportedly included: “I’ll hit you like this too; I told you already, you forced me to do it,” “If I don’t take a life, I won’t give one,” “It’s true, this is how you have to cleanse your honor,” and “The final day is near; I will get my revenge.”
Investigators will need to establish whom the posts were directed at and whether they were directly connected to the incident.
However, the posts indicate that threatening messages were shared on social media before the incident.

Criminal case launched
A criminal case has been opened by the Khazar District Prosecutor’s Office.
Ahmadov, suspected of committing the crime, has been detained, and investigative measures are continuing.
Initial reports described the killing as stemming from a personal dispute. The motive, full details of the incident and the legal assessment of the suspect’s social media posts will be clarified as the investigation proceeds.
