Manchester City and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma returned to Paris to play against France in the third round of the UEFA Nations League. The match at the Stade de France ended in a 1-1 draw.
Donnarumma said after the match that he was pleased to return to Paris. “This was a special game for me. It was great to see so many old friends. We played a very strong match. It is always a pleasure to play at the Stade de France, and there was a great atmosphere here tonight,” the goalkeeper told UEFA’s official website.
France’s Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 55th minute. Italy equalized in the 68th minute through Alessandro Bastoni. France defender Dayot Upamecano was sent off in the 85th minute.
Donnarumma played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2025. During that time, the Italian goalkeeper made 161 appearances for the club, conceded 156 goals and kept 53 clean sheets.
