The US military struck a vessel suspected of drug trafficking in the Caribbean, killing four people, the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said on Sunday.
SOUTHCOM said Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere carried out a “lethal, kinetic strike” against a high-speed vessel travelling along established drug-trafficking routes. The command said intelligence had confirmed the vessel was involved in narcotics trafficking.
The command described those killed as “narco-terrorists”. Footage released by SOUTHCOM showed the vessel moving through the water before it was struck and engulfed in an explosion.
