President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter states:
“Dear Mr. President,
On the occasion of August 17 – the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, I extend my most sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and, through you, to your friendly people on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan.
Currently, there are good opportunities to further expand the scope of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Indonesia in a number of areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economy, mutual investment, humanitarian, and other sectors.
I am confident that we will achieve the strengthening of Azerbaijan-Indonesia friendship and cooperation for the well-being of our peoples.
On this remarkable day, I wish you good health, happiness, and success in your high state activities, and I wish the friendly people of Indonesia lasting peace and prosperity.”
Indonesia, the world's largest archipelagic state, celebrates its Independence Day annually on August 17, marking the proclamation of its independence from Dutch colonial rule in 1945. Azerbaijan and Indonesia maintain diplomatic relations characterized by mutual respect and cooperation within international organizations, including the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, where both nations actively participate in addressing global and regional issues.
