The judo world championships in Baku continue today. On the second day of competition, winners will be determined in the women’s 52kg and men’s 66kg weight categories.
Four members of Azerbaijan’s national team will take to the tatami. In the women’s 52kg category, Gultaj Mammadaliyeva will face Israel’s Gefen Primo in the round of 32.
In the men’s 66kg category, Turan Bayramov will meet Finland’s Luukas Saha in the round of 64. Nizami Imranov will also compete in that round, against Georgia’s Vaja Margvelashvili.
Ruslan Pashayev will face the winner of the bout between Turkmenistan’s Serdar Rahimov and Spain’s Adrian Nieto Chinarro in the round of 32. Preliminary bouts are scheduled to begin at 10:00 Baku time, with the final block starting at 18:00.
On the opening day of the championships, Azerbaijan team member Ahmad Yusifov won gold in the 60kg category to become world champion.
