Drone strikes fuel station and warehouses in Kyiv

A drone struck a fuel station in Kyiv early Tuesday, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a statement on the Telegram messaging platform.

According to Klitschko, warehouse facilities in another part of the city were also hit. No further details on the consequences of the strikes were immediately available.

A drone was also reported to have struck an industrial facility in Russia’s Samara region. Regional Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev did not identify the facility. The Samara region is home to several major oil refineries.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv could support a US proposal to halt attacks on energy facilities only if Washington guarantees that Russia is sincere in its intention to end the war.

Zelenskyy said halting attacks on critical infrastructure could be the first step toward reducing escalation and ending the war. He said Ukraine was ready to support de-escalation in such a case.

In Taganrog, a city in southern Russia, a missile strike damaged a warehouse belonging to the Ozon company. Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar said a gas pipeline and several residential buildings were also damaged.
