The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has prepared a 25-page letter addressed directly to the US public. Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi, the organization’s official spokesman, said at a press conference in Tehran that the letter aims to convey Tehran’s position and rationale regarding the region to the American people, bypassing media propaganda.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that he made the remarks.
According to Hossein Mohebbi, the letter presents detailed arguments about the real reasons behind attacks against Iran over decades, the consequences of Washington’s policy toward the Middle East and Israel, and the harm caused to ordinary American taxpayers by the United States’ massive military spending.
The letter was prepared amid 47 years of uninterrupted political and military tensions between Iran and the United States. The IRGC representative said extensive anti-Iranian propaganda in the US media prevents Americans from learning the facts, adding that the initiative seeks to establish direct information exchange between the two peoples.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, commonly known by its Persian acronym IRGC, is Iran’s elite military force, established after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. It operates separately from Iran’s regular armed forces and has responsibilities in both national defense and regional security affairs.
