Traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads in Baku, causing delays for commuters during peak hours.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released an official update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital.
As of the latest monitoring, traffic density is being observed in the following nine directions:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Sabunchu-Zabrat highway, in the direction of the "Koroglu" metro station;
- Gara Garayev Avenue, from the "Gara Garayev" metro station towards the "Koroglu" metro station;
- Mikayil Aliyev Street, from the Oil Refinery towards the "Koroglu" metro station (up to the roundabout);
- 1st Lake Side Road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center.
The Intelligent Transport Management Center regularly monitors traffic flow in Baku to optimize urban mobility. As the capital continues to expand and the number of vehicles increases, the ITMC utilizes smart traffic light systems and real-time surveillance to manage congestion and improve road safety across the Republic of Azerbaijan.
