Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku, causing significant delays for commuters during peak hours.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an official warning regarding the current traffic density across the capital. According to the center, the influx of vehicles has slowed movement on primary arteries connecting the city center with suburban areas.

The current traffic situation on the capital's roads is as follows:

  1. Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
  2. 1st Gol kenari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  3. 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center;
  4. Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
  5. 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  6. Yusif Safarov Street, towards the city center;
  7. Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "Khirdalan" circle;
  8. Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
  9. Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  10. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
  11. Binagadi highway, in the direction of the "Azadlig Avenue" metro station.

Traffic congestion in Azerbaijan's capital often intensifies during morning and evening rush hours due to the high volume of vehicles entering the city from surrounding residential areas. The Intelligent Transport Management Center continues to monitor the situation via surveillance cameras to optimize traffic light intervals and manage the flow. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes where possible to avoid prolonged delays in the mentioned directions.
