Traffic congestion reported on major Baku roads

Significant traffic congestion has been recorded on several key roads and avenues in Baku today, affecting the movement of vehicles across the capital. The delays are primarily concentrated on major arteries connecting the city center with suburban areas and residential districts during peak hours.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) reported heavy traffic in the following directions:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway, towards "20 January" metro station;
  • Binagadi highway, towards "Azadlig Prospekti" metro station;
  • Ali Mustafayev Street, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from "20 January" metro station towards the center;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards "20 January" metro station;
  • 1st Gol Kanari road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main and auxiliary roads, towards the center;
  • 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center;
  • 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Mikayil Mushfig Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards school-lyceum No. 20;
  • Afiyaddin Jalilov Street, towards Yusif Safarov Street.

Traffic management in Azerbaijan's capital remains a priority for urban authorities as the city continues to expand. The Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) utilizes a comprehensive network of cameras and sensors to monitor real-time traffic flow, aiming to optimize signal timings and reduce transit times for commuters. Drivers are advised to consider these delays and utilize alternative routes where possible to ensure timely arrivals and improve overall road safety.
