Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Dominican Republic Foreign Minister Ito Bisono on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations, institutionalizing political dialogue and strengthening cooperation within international organizations.
Following the meeting, they signed an Agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports.
They also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a mechanism for political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic.
The visa agreement is expected to facilitate travel between Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic for ordinary passport holders and support the expansion of people-to-people and official contacts. The two countries also agreed to maintain structured consultations between their foreign ministries as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations.
