An expanded meeting has been held between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in Baku. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) shared the update on its official X social media account.
During the discussions, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Kazakh counterpart reaffirmed the strong strategic ties between the two nations. Both sides noted the increasing cooperation across various sectors, including economy, trade, energy, industry, agriculture, transport, logistics, technology, and the digital sphere. The ministers particularly emphasized the role of the Middle Corridor in developing Europe-Asia trade and highlighted the importance of joint projects that contribute to strengthening transit infrastructure and regional connectivity.
The meeting also addressed regional and global security challenges. The parties expressed concern over tensions in the Middle East, voicing hope that the achieved ceasefire would bring stability and peace to the region. Furthermore, Jeyhun Bayramov briefed his colleague on the ongoing normalization and peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Prior to the expanded session, the ministers held a one-on-one meeting to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan share deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, with both nations being key members of the Organization of Turkic States. In recent years, the partnership has evolved into a strategic alliance, focused on diversifying energy routes and enhancing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). This cooperation is seen as vital for regional stability and the integration of Central Asian economies with global markets through the South Caucasus.
