Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, particularly in the transport and logistics sectors, holds significant promise for future development and mutual economic growth.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev discussed these prospects in an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).
"The strategic positions of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus and Uzbekistan in Central Asia make our countries natural partners along vital routes connecting the East and the West. In this regard, the integration of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project with the Middle Corridor and TRACECA will create new economic and transit opportunities for the entire region," the head of state noted.
The Middle Corridor, officially known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), has become a critical artery for international trade, linking Asia and Europe. By bypassing traditional northern routes, this corridor enhances the logistical connectivity of the Caspian Sea basin, allowing for faster and more secure transit of goods between China, Central Asia, and Europe via Azerbaijan.
