Modern and comfortable buses will begin serving passengers on route lines 76 and 78 in Baku starting February 1, enhancing the capital's public transport infrastructure.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Azerbaijan Surface Transport Agency (AYNA), under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, released the update. The agency stated that the integration of new vehicles into these two regular routes aims to improve service quality in passenger transportation and increase citizen satisfaction in Azerbaijan.
Starting from the beginning of February, the updated fleet will operate on route 76, connecting Bakikhanov railway station with the "Neftchilar" metro station, and route 78, which links the same station with the "Qara Qarayev" metro station. Officials noted that payments on these buses will be conducted exclusively via cashless methods, with the fare set at 0.50 AZN.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the government of Azerbaijan to modernize the urban transport network in Baku. Over the past few years, the capital has seen a significant transition toward a fully digital payment system and the replacement of older vehicles with environmentally friendly, high-capacity buses. These reforms are designed to reduce traffic congestion and provide more reliable commuting options for the city's growing population.
