US President Donald Trump hosted world leaders at an official diplomatic reception in New York on Tuesday evening, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The private event was held at the “Lotte New York Palace” hotel on Madison Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, bringing together visiting heads of state, government delegations and accompanying spouses attending the General Debate’s high-level week.
Reception held behind closed doors
The gathering was closed entirely to the press. Officials did not immediately provide details about bilateral discussions, remarks by attendees or the guest list.
The annual reception is a traditional engagement hosted by the country presiding over the General Assembly’s opening days of high-level debate, offering an opportunity for visiting world leaders to meet during the UN week.
