Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will pay an official visit to Beijing on Wednesday.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the announcement was made by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei and China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the information, Araghchi will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, during the one-day visit. The talks will focus on bilateral strategic and economic relations, cooperation in the energy sector, the escalating security crisis in the Middle East and other regional issues.
The high-level meeting in Beijing comes ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s expected visit to the United States. The two countries’ foreign policy chiefs are expected to seek closer coordination amid rising regional tensions and international sanctions.
