Transit shipments of grain and fertilizer to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan are scheduled to commence today. This move facilitates the movement of essential agricultural goods across regional transport corridors.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the cargo is set to depart from the Bilajari Railway Station, operated by the "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC. This follows a previous shipment on April 24, when 350 tons of Russian wheat were transported to Armenia via Azerbaijani territory.
The utilization of Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure for regional transit highlights the country's growing role as a major logistics hub in the South Caucasus. By opening its railway networks for such shipments, Baku demonstrates its commitment to regional connectivity and the diversification of transport routes. This development aligns with broader efforts to restore economic and transport links in the region, fostering stability and cooperation through integrated infrastructure projects.
