Croatia coach Slaven Bilic has spoken about his team’s upcoming match against Spain in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League. Croatia lost 7-0 to England in the previous round, the biggest defeat in the national team’s history.
Bilic said his team would need to put in a strong performance against Spain to recover from the heavy loss. “For Croatia, this is an unacceptable result. The only way for me and the players to get out of this situation is to play well. There could hardly be a tougher match in football right now. It is time to show character and unity,” he said.
The coach said it would be wrong to promise a victory over Spain, but stressed that his team must play with courage and energy. Dalmatinski Portal reported his remarks.
After the group’s first three rounds, Spain lead with nine points. England are second with six, while Croatia sit third with three. The Czech Republic have no points.
