Heydar Aliyev International Airport has reaffirmed its status as the region's leading aviation hub by winning the prestigious "Best Airport in Central Asia and the CIS" category at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2026.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the international airport that the award was presented on March 18 during an official ceremony in London. The event took place as part of the Passenger Terminal Expo World, one of the aviation industry's premier global platforms.
The World Airport Awards are considered among the most prestigious international accolades in the aviation sector. Determined by the largest annual independent passenger survey globally, the awards have been presented since 1999. The evaluation covers passenger experiences across more than 565 airports, with results formed independently based on feedback from thousands of travelers worldwide. The assessment includes key touchpoints such as check-in, security, passport control, transit zones, shopping, and overall service infrastructure up to the boarding process.
