Rainy weather conditions are expected to prevail across Azerbaijan on May 16, with a significant change in temperatures and atmospheric pressure.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a forecast indicating unstable conditions. In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be changeably cloudy and occasionally gloomy. Short-term rain and lightning are likely in some areas during the night and morning hours, accompanied by occasionally strengthening moderate north-west winds.
The temperature in the capital will range between 15-18°C at night and 19-24°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure is set to rise from 750 mm Hg to 753 mm Hg, while relative humidity will fluctuate between 55-75%. In the regions of Azerbaijan, precipitation is expected to be intensive in certain areas, with possibilities of lightning, hail, and snow in high-altitude mountainous terrains. Fog is also anticipated in various districts, with westerly winds strengthening periodically.
Such seasonal weather fluctuations are typical for the South Caucasus region during late spring. The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors these patterns to provide timely alerts for agriculture, transportation, and public safety. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against potential lightning and heavy rainfall, particularly in the eastern and mountainous regions where the weather intensity is expected to increase toward the evening.
