The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has ensured the comfortable, continuous, and safe transportation of guests and participants during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) hosted in Baku. The transport operations utilized a modern fleet, including Neoplan buses and electric vehicles, to facilitate movement across the capital.
According to information provided by AYNA to Operative Information Center-OMM, the transportation of international guests arriving in Azerbaijan for WUF13 is being conducted directly from the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. To manage the logistics effectively, a network consisting of 9 transport hubs, 2 terminal points, and more than 67 intermediate stops was established for the duration of the forum.
During the primary three days of the forum (May 17-19), buses completed 3,260 trips between the designated hubs and the event venue, transporting 56,858 passengers. Since the commencement of transport operations on May 12, a total of 5,555 trips have been executed between the airport, hubs, and the venue, serving 68,263 passengers. A total of 180 buses were deployed to meet the demand.
The management of these routes and the execution of transport operations are monitored 24/7 by the AYNA Monitoring Center. Approximately 1,500 personnel, including drivers and administrative staff, have been involved in ensuring the seamless delivery of transport services. The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization, and Azerbaijan's hosting of the 13th session underscores the country's growing role in international diplomacy and urban development initiatives.
