Traffic congestion reported on major roads in Baku

Traffic congestion has been observed on several major roads in Baku at the start of the work week.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released an update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital.

As of now, traffic density is reported in the following locations:

  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 Yanvar" metro station;
  • Binagadi highway, in the direction of the "Azadlig Prospekti" metro station;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, in the direction of the city center;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, in the direction of the city center;
  • 8 Noyabr Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center;
  • Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Dilara Aliyeva Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 Yanvar" metro station towards the city center;
  • Babek Avenue, in the direction of the city center;
  • At the "20 Yanvar" circle;
  • Hasan Bey Zardabi Street, in the direction of the "20 Yanvar" metro station.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center, which operates under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, continuously monitors traffic flow across the capital to optimize road safety and efficiency. Such congestion is common during peak morning hours in Baku as commuters travel to work and educational institutions, prompting authorities to advise drivers to plan their routes in advance and adhere to traffic regulations to mitigate delays.
