Turkey’s authorities are continuing legal proceedings against individuals involved in transactions that disrupt markets, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said on Monday.
In a statement on the Turkish social media platform “Nsosyal”, Simsek said the government would not take action against individuals or companies unrelated to such activities.
He said protecting investment, employment, production and export capacity in Turkey’s real sector remained a top priority.
Measures to protect investors and markets
Simsek added that officials were working with the Ministry of Justice to safeguard the legitimate rights of fund investors.
The government will continue taking necessary measures, including providing liquidity to the market, to prevent developments from harming the financial system and the real economy, he said.
Simsek also called on the public to rely exclusively on statements issued by authorised institutions regarding the ongoing process.
