US President Donald Trump has announced that Iran will no longer engage in uranium enrichment as historic negotiations regarding the easing of sanctions are currently underway.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of the White House made this significant announcement on the Truth Social platform.
"The United States will work closely with Iran. Uranium will not be enriched, and they will work with us to remove all remnants of nuclear materials buried deep underground (following strikes by B-2 bombers). This facility is currently under intense satellite surveillance," he stated.
Noting that Washington and Tehran are discussing tariffs and the relaxation of sanctions, US President Donald Trump added: "We are and will be negotiating with Iran on tariffs and the easing of sanctions. Many of the 15 points have already been agreed upon."
It should be recalled that Iran and the United States reached an agreement on a two-week ceasefire on the night of April 8, 2026. Iran, for its part, stated that during this period, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be ensured, taking into account coordination and technical limitations with the Armed Forces of Iran.
This diplomatic breakthrough follows years of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran over regional security and nuclear proliferation. The involvement of the United States in direct negotiations marks a shift in the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, potentially impacting global energy markets and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for international oil shipments. The 15-point framework is expected to serve as a roadmap for long-term stability in the region and the eventual reintegration of Iran into the global economic system under strict international oversight.
