A woman was killed and a man injured in Russian strikes on the city of Sumy in northeastern Ukraine overnight.
According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, the attack also damaged a building belonging to one of the region’s educational institutions.
The service said efforts were underway to extinguish a fire that broke out after the incident.
Sumy, located near Ukraine’s border with Russia, has frequently come under attack since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The State Emergency Service is responsible for responding to fires, emergencies and the consequences of missile and drone strikes across the country.
