Four people, including a child, were killed in overnight drone attacks carried out by Ukraine on Novorossiysk, a port city in southern Russia, Krasnodar region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said.
According to the governor, 29 other people were injured in the attacks and are receiving medical treatment. Five residential buildings, a church and a kindergarten were damaged.
Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, said Russian warships were destroyed in the strikes on Novorossiysk. He said the vessels hit included missile carriers, but did not disclose the number of ships targeted.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the attack. He said,
Novorossiysk is a major Russian port on the Black Sea and hosts naval and commercial infrastructure. The city has been affected by the broader Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has increasingly involved long-range drone strikes against military and industrial facilities.
