President Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Justice of Turkey, Yilmaz Tunc, on July 2.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Minister Yilmaz Tunc expressed his gratitude for the reception and the hospitality extended to him, conveying the greetings of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his appreciation for the greetings and requested that his own regards be conveyed to the President of Turkey.
During the meeting, the Turkish Minister of Justice highlighted that the relations between the two nations, rooted in a shared history, culture, and brotherhood, have continued to flourish due to the close and sincere ties between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey. He noted that under President Aliyev's strong leadership, Azerbaijan has achieved significant development, specifically citing the country's economic progress, rising international prestige, and the historic victory in Garabagh.
Minister Tunc further emphasized Azerbaijan's pivotal role in regional energy and connectivity projects, including the Zangezur corridor, and reaffirmed that Turkey remains steadfast in its support for Azerbaijan. The parties expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the brotherly and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey across all sectors. They also discussed the effective partnership established between the Ministries of Justice of both countries and exchanged views on further expanding this cooperation.
The relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey is often described as a model of strategic alliance, characterized by the principle of "one nation, two states." This partnership spans defense, energy, and legal cooperation, with both nations frequently coordinating on regional security and infrastructure initiatives.
