This operation is part of Azerbaijan's ongoing comprehensive strategy to combat illegal drug trafficking and prevent the infiltration of narcotics across its borders. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service (SSS) frequently conduct joint operations to dismantle international smuggling routes, particularly those originating from the south. Azerbaijan remains committed to international cooperation in the global fight against drug abuse and organized crime, strengthening its domestic legal framework and border security to protect its citizens from the impact of illicit substances.
