Speed limits have been reduced by 20 km/h on certain lanes of the Zigh Circle–Airport highway in Baku due to the current rainy weather conditions. The measure aims to ensure traffic safety on one of the capital's primary transport arteries.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intelligent Transport Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) released the information. According to the statement, center specialists have updated information boards to reflect the changes, and "slippery road" warning signs have been activated across all electronic displays.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges drivers to strictly adhere to the established speed limits, maintain a safe following distance, and exercise heightened caution to prevent accidents. Such seasonal adjustments are standard procedure in Azerbaijan to mitigate risks associated with reduced visibility and road traction during inclement weather, particularly on high-speed suburban highways connecting the capital to Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
