Inspectors from the State Agency for Safe Working in Industry and Mountain-Mining Control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have conducted a scheduled inspection of six elevators located in a residential building owned by the "Qaygi" Housing Construction Cooperative (MTK) on Jeyhun Hasanov Street in the Khatai district of Baku.
According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the Ministry of Emergency Situations' press service reported that the inspection revealed the elevators were being operated without adhering to necessary safety requirements, posing a direct threat to human life and health.
Consequently, the operation of the elevators has been suspended. The Ministry has formally notified the "Qaygi" MTK management, requiring the immediate rectification of the identified technical safety violations. A formal act was drafted, and representatives of the cooperative were warned that the elevators cannot resume operation until all safety standards are met. Furthermore, the MTK was advised of its legal liability for any potential accidents or incidents resulting from the continued operation of these facilities without proper compliance.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations regularly conducts such inspections across Azerbaijan to ensure compliance with technical safety regulations in residential and commercial buildings. These measures are part of a broader state initiative to prevent industrial and technical accidents, emphasizing the responsibility of building management entities to maintain infrastructure in accordance with national safety protocols.
