Prime Minister Ali Asadov, currently on a working visit to Tashkent, has held a meeting with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Cabinet of Ministers reported that Prime Minister Ali Asadov conveyed the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to the Uzbek head of state.
In response, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and requested that his own regards be conveyed to the President of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which are built on the foundations of strategic partnership and alliance. The discussions covered the prospects for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors, including trade, economics, investment, transport and logistics, energy, and humanitarian affairs.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan maintain strong bilateral ties, characterized by frequent high-level diplomatic exchanges and a shared commitment to regional stability. These relations have been significantly bolstered in recent years through joint economic initiatives and infrastructure projects, reflecting the deepening cooperation between the two nations within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
