Death toll from firecracker factory fire in Russia rises to 14

The death toll from a fire at a firecracker manufacturing plant in Russia’s Yaroslavl region has risen to 14, while one person was injured, authorities reported.

Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said on the Russian social media platform “Max” that the fire had been completely extinguished and that personnel were continuing to clear the debris.

Emergency declared in district

Regional Governor Mikhail Yevrayev separately said on “Telegram” that a state of emergency had been declared in the Pereslavl-Zalessky District following the blaze.

The ministry earlier reported that more than 100 personnel and 40 pieces of equipment had been deployed to tackle the fire.
