China has pledged to take all necessary measures to protect its domestic enterprises should the United States implement new restrictions in the telecommunications sector.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated in an official announcement by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. "If the US side persists, China will take the necessary steps to resolutely protect the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises," the statement emphasized.
The Ministry of Commerce urged Washington to immediately abandon these "erroneous practices," respect market principles, and revoke the relevant decisions. The ministry further asserted that the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has abandoned the principle of technological neutrality and is "abusing the concept of national security." Beijing claims these measures unfairly discriminate against companies from China and other nations, potentially destabilizing global electronics supply chains.
The US regulator previously introduced provisions banning testing and certification bodies from countries that do not have mutual recognition agreements with the United States. The document also disqualifies blacklisted entities from the right to provide telecommunications services in the country. These developments occur as US President Donald Trump continues to prioritize the security of domestic digital infrastructure. Such regulatory shifts are part of a broader geopolitical competition over 5G technology and semiconductor manufacturing, which remain critical components of modern global trade and national security.
