The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued a formal appeal to road users, warning of increased traffic intensity on Azerbaijan's highways during the weekend. Observations indicate that the volume of vehicles traveling between Baku and the regions rises significantly on Saturdays and Sundays, leading to congestion and an elevated risk of traffic accidents.

According to information provided by the department to the Operative Information Center-OMM, control and preventive measures have been intensified across the country to ensure public safety. Officials emphasized that many serious road accidents occur due to technical malfunctions, speeding, driver fatigue, and general negligence. Drivers are urged to inspect their vehicles before departure, strictly adhere to overtaking and maneuvering regulations, and adjust their driving style to account for the rainy weather conditions characteristic of the current season.

Road safety remains a top priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan as the government continues to modernize the national transport infrastructure. The Ministry of Internal Affairs frequently conducts such awareness campaigns to reduce mortality rates on highways and promote a culture of disciplined driving. Authorities remind long-distance travelers to take regular breaks and avoid operating vehicles while sleep-deprived, noting that personal responsibility is the primary guarantee of safety on the road.
