Traffic congestion reported on major Baku roads

Significant traffic congestion and density have been reported on the main roads and avenues of Baku.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Transport Intellectual Management Center (NIIM) has released the latest data regarding the current transport situation in the capital. The report indicates heavy vehicle flow across several strategic arteries during peak hours.

Currently, the traffic situation is as follows:

  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
  • Heydar Aliyev Avenue, secondary road, towards the city center;
  • Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
  • 1st Gol Kenari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
  • Ali Mustafayev Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
  • 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center;
  • Koroglu Rahimov Street, from Mirza Gadim Iravani Street towards Ak. Hasan Aliyev Street;
  • Yusif Safarov Street, density observed towards the city center.

The Transport Intellectual Management Center (NIIM) in Azerbaijan is responsible for the real-time monitoring and management of traffic flow in the capital. Such congestion is typical during morning and evening rush hours in Baku, as the city continues to expand its infrastructure. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes where possible and follow the digital information boards for live updates to save time and ensure road safety.
