Significant traffic congestion and vehicle density have been observed on several central roads and avenues in Baku.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) has released an update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to the official data, heavy traffic is currently observed in the following directions:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Binagadi highway, towards the "Azadliq Prospekti" metro station;
- 1st Gol Kenari road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the center;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the center;
- Bakikhanov Street, from the intersection with Jalil Mammadguluzadeh Street towards the "Statistika" circle;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the intersection with Izmir Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the center;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street to the intersection with Atatürk Avenue;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the front of the Baku Olympic Stadium towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Zarifa Aliyeva Street;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadliq Avenue;
- 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center;
- Mikayil Mushfiq Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards School-Lyceum No. 20.
The Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) monitors traffic flow in real-time across the capital to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles and public transport. Such congestion is frequently observed during peak hours in Baku as the city's transport infrastructure manages high volumes of daily commuters. Authorities recommend that drivers take these delays into account and utilize alternative routes where possible to ensure timely arrival at their destinations.
