Bakıda intensiv yağışlar fəsadlar törətdi: BŞİH rəsmi məlumat yaydı

Intensive rainfall observed across the country since April 4 has caused a series of serious complications in the capital. According to information provided by the Baku City Executive Power to Operative Information Center-OMM, the executive body, its subordinate structures, and heads of district executive powers have immediately switched to an enhanced work mode to manage the situation.

Flooding has been reported in areas of Baku's suburban settlements that lack adequate sewage systems. Municipal service employees are utilizing specialized equipment to drain rainwater and are evacuating residents where necessary. Water pumps, specialized technical devices, and heavy machinery have been deployed to the affected areas to mitigate the impact of the deluge.

The weather conditions have also impacted the city's infrastructure and environment. Between the evening of April 5 and the morning of April 6, strong winds accompanying the heavy rain resulted in several trees falling. Operative groups from the Baku City Greening Maintenance Association are providing continuous service to remove fallen trees and ensure public safety. Monitoring groups from the Baku City Executive Power are currently active on the ground, identifying problematic addresses and coordinating with relevant agencies to eliminate the consequences of the rainfall in a coordinated manner.

Baku, located on the Absheron Peninsula, frequently faces infrastructure challenges during periods of rapid seasonal transition. The city's geographical position and the rapid expansion of suburban residential areas often necessitate large-scale mobilization of communal services during heavy spring rains. These efforts are part of Azerbaijan's broader urban management strategy to modernize drainage systems and enhance the resilience of the capital's infrastructure against extreme weather events.
