Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education (MEB) has launched a nationwide social awareness project titled “Let the sky belong to children, not be targeted” at all schools across the country to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the plight of children affected by the war.

Operative Information Center-OMM reported that the ministry’s press service provided the information, citing an instruction sent to education directorates in all 81 provinces.

According to the report, the weekly series of events organized במסגרת the “Türkiye Century Education Model” was also held extensively at educational institutions in the capital under the coordination of the Ankara Provincial Directorate of National Education. At an event organized at the “Flower Garden” kindergarten in Ankara’s Keçiören district, young pupils conveyed messages of peace, security, brotherhood and international solidarity through kites and drawings they had prepared themselves.

Keçiören District Director of National Education Ibrahim Şahin, teachers and parents attended the event, where the children released kites bearing symbols of peace into the sky. Ministry officials emphasized that such initiatives play an important role in instilling compassion, justice and humanitarian values in students.

Educational activities focused on Gaza have been organized in schools in several countries to help children understand the human impact of conflicts and promote messages of peace and solidarity. The initiative in Ankara combines creative activities with age-appropriate discussions about humanitarian values.
