Drivers who engaged in hooliganism within a wedding convoy in Agsu have been arrested, according to official reports.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) that Jamil Gurbanov and Yusif Yusifov were detained during a preventive operation conducted by officers of the State Road Police Department of the Agsu District Police Department.

The individuals, driving Mercedes and Tofas brand vehicles, repeatedly and grossly violated traffic regulations within a wedding procession, creating significant danger for other road participants. Furthermore, the drivers recorded their reckless actions and shared the footage on their social media accounts. The collected materials regarding the drivers were submitted to the district court for review. By court order, Gurbanov and Yusifov were each sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention, and their driving rights were restricted for a period of one year.

In Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Road Police regularly conduct monitoring and preventive measures to ensure road safety and combat hooliganism. Such violations, particularly during public celebrations and convoys, are strictly prohibited under the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The authorities continue to urge citizens to adhere to traffic laws to maintain public order and ensure the safety of all residents in the capital and regional districts.
