68 şəhərin baş planı təsdiqləndi

Master plans for 68 cities in Azerbaijan have been officially approved as part of ongoing urban planning reforms. Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, announced the development during the "Entrepreneurship development is a strong economy" forum held in Baku today.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Guliyev noted that out of 79 cities in Azerbaijan, 68 now have finalized master plans, while work on the remaining 11 is currently underway. "The updated master plans ensure that urban development is systematic and predictable, providing legal clarity and increasing investment attractiveness for entrepreneurial activities," the chairman stated. He further emphasized that large-scale reforms over the past two decades have modernized the legal framework and digitalized regulatory mechanisms, significantly simplifying the process for obtaining construction and operation permits.

Urban planning in Azerbaijan has seen a significant shift toward modernization and sustainability, particularly following the restoration of territorial integrity. The development of master plans is a critical component of the state's strategic development goals, which include the reconstruction of infrastructure in the liberated territories of Garabagh and East Zangazur. These strategic documents serve as a blueprint for integrating modern "smart city" technologies and ensuring that urban growth aligns with international standards for environmental and social sustainability.
