The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) has achieved a historic milestone with a record-breaking 57,000 registered participants. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the event held in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Anaklaudia Rossbach, the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), shared the final attendance figures during her address. "WUF13 has gathered a record number of participants—57,000 people from 176 countries here in Baku, including more than 3,000 participants who joined online. This sends a strong and unified signal to the world," she stated.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Hosting the event in Baku underscores Azerbaijan's growing role as a major international hub for discussing global challenges, including urban development, climate resilience, and sustainable housing. The forum serves as a critical platform for policymakers, urban planners, and civil society to collaborate on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
