The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) has concluded with a final press conference highlighting key global urban development objectives and the transition to future initiatives.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the conference featured prominent speakers including Anaclaudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat); Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and National Coordinator for WUF13; Amina Mohammed, UN Deputy Secretary-General; and Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, Mexico's Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
The conclusion of WUF13 marks a significant milestone as Azerbaijan prepares to host the next session of the World Urban Forum in Baku. Established by the United Nations in 2001, the forum serves as the premier global platform for discussing rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, economies, and climate change. Azerbaijan's role as the upcoming host reflects the country's active engagement in international urban policy and its commitment to sustainable city development under the New Urban Agenda.
